HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! ***Come and see us on Halloween for treats!*** (Tips for safe Trick or Treats)
October 22nd, 2018It is that time again! Ghosts, Goblins, Pumpkins and FUN! Cooler weather, Carving that great Jack O Lantern. and of course TRICK OR TREATING!!! Here are a few pointers for a safe Halloween:
- Escort any younger kids while trick-or-treating
- Set a specific time for your kids to be out
- Always know who is trick-or-treating with your kids
- Make sure your kids know to never enter any homes
- Inspect all candy and treats before your kids eat the,
- Only give our commercially wrapper candy
- Consider pacing reflective or glow tape on costumes
- Kids should carry a flash light or some form of light device
And a few tips for the trick or treaters:
- Don’t trick-or-treat alone
- Do not take short cuts through alleys and buildings
- Stay on sidewalks when possible
- Never approach someone in a car who is offering candy
- Look both ways before crossing a street
- Trick-or-treat at houses that have porch lights on or are well lit. And never, ever go inside a home.
- Wait until you get home to eat treats
And a few tips for the drivers:
- Drive slowly and use extra caution
- Look for children in the street and crossing the street between parked vehicles
- Be extra careful entering and exiting driveways
- Avoid any extra distractions such as cell phone or loud music
- Use headlights all the time
- If you drink at all, use a designated driver or ride-share program
